The Story Behind "The Healing Chakra Painting Series"
The Healing Chakra Painting Series was born from a moment of emotional overwhelm—when I realized I couldn’t keep pouring into others without first learning how to protect and replenish my own energy.

As an art teacher working with middle school students, I witnessed firsthand the weight that our youth carry on a daily basis: anxiety, sadness and the desire to be accepted by their peers. My classroom became a sanctuary for their emotions. I encouraged them to face their fears, explore their inner world, and celebrate their uniqueness through art. But as an empath, I was absorbing it all like a sponge. Every day, I came home spiritually, mentally, and emotionally drained.

I knew something had to change.

That’s when I discovered Reiki—and everything shifted. Becoming a certified practitioner taught me how to give love without giving myself away. I learned how to protect my energy, set healthy boundaries, while still being fully present for those who needed me. And once I found that peace for myself, I began to pass it on to my students.

I started weaving mindfulness into my curriculum—guiding students through breathwork, affirmations, and quiet moments of stillness while they created art. The transformation was almost instant. They became calmer, more grounded, and connected to their inner selves.

It was like magic. Real energy alignment.

And that’s how the Healing Chakra Painting Series came to life. I wanted to share this experience beyond the classroom. Each piece in the series is my interpretation of the seven chakras, expressed through color, emotion, symbolism, and movement.

The series was streamed LIVE on social media, inviting people from around the world to join me on a meditative journey. As I painted each chakra, I spoke about finding balance in our lives, and how we can realign ourselves with more love, intention, and awareness. Viewers described the experience as healing, empowering, and serene.

But the heart of the series? Serenity and Shiloh.

These two small portraits of a little girl (Serenity) and little boy (Shiloh) speak volumes. With their eyes softly closed, these two remind us that mindfulness isn’t just for adults healing past their pain and trauma. It’s for children, too. Serenity and Shiloh represent what’s possible when we teach our youth to breathe through discomfort, to pause before reacting, and to find their worth, long before the world reaches them.

This online experience was more than just painting on canvas—it became a sacred space. A space for self-reflection, restoration and realignment.
And through it all, we remembered how important it is to heal so that we can pass on the legacy to our future generations.
